Stephen Callis teaches photography at Moorpark Community College and lives in Los Angeles. He has photographed the L.A. River from its source to its mouth since 1992. His latest project involving the river documents the historic bridges through downtown Los Angeles. His most recent photographs of the Griffith Park fire appeared in the show ÒGaiaÕs Lament: The Earth in CrisisÓ at the Santa Ana College Art Gallery in September of 2007. Stephen is also known for producing two bilingual (English/Spanish) photonovelas involving Los Angeles labor unions.
